Overview
Oyo Baptist Conference (OBC) emerged from the former Oyo West Baptist Conference and was officially inaugurated in November 2012. Rooted in unity and service, OBC gathers churches across Oyo and environs to advance the Gospel through worship, teaching, missions, and community service.
Our Story
Origins: The Nigerian Baptist Convention approved the regrouping that created Oyo and Ibadan Conferences in 2012. OBC continued the legacy and stewardship of Baptist work in Oyo with shared assets and responsibilities.
A Decade of Progress: In its first ten years, OBC grew from 10 to 22 Associations, strengthened administrative structures, and completed landmark projects at Zion Centre.
What We Believe
We affirm the historic Baptist convictions: the Lordship of Christ; authority of Scripture; believer’s baptism; congregational governance; cooperative missions; and the priesthood of all believers.
Where We Meet
Our annual Conference-in-Session and major gatherings are hosted at Zion Baptist Centre, Eleekara, Ilora.
